OSHKOSH - PLANS BUILT RV-3 The RV-3 is actually the third generation of the first RV-1 originally designed by Van in the 1960’s . It was originally designed as a deviation from the Stits Playboy. The original RV was never sold, but rather served as a base for building future planes. After making the changes that were in the original vision for the RV, they came up with the RV-3. It was originally designed in 1968, but took its maiden voyage in 1971. The original RV-3, with serial number N17RV, now resides in the EAA museum in Oshkosh. After making improvements to the RV-3, Van came up with the RV-4 and future versions of his original plane. With the Oshkosh - Plans Built RV-3 checks, you will get a fabulous photograph of this beauty flying thru the air. With the majestic fire engine red color with a single silver stripe down the side, this aircraft is truly amazing.
